One of the most exciting tournaments in the coming months is the 2009 PokerNews Cup Alpine running from March 21st – 28th.
The PokerNews Cup originated with a tournament held in the Melborne Crown Casino in 2007. It was a nine day tournament with a total of six events. During this first tournament over $1.5 million was given away in prize money. Last year in 2008, the first PokerNews Cup Europe tournament was held in Salzburg, this was a five day event and drew some of the best players from across the continent. Last year also saw the tournament return to Melbourne and it proved to be even bigger and better than the last. Hopefully this trend will continue into the forthcoming tournament back in Austria.
This year’s European tournament is going to be held at the Alpine Palace, a luxurious resort set in the beautiful Austrian Alps. Anyone playing in the tournament will be staying ath the five star Alpine Palace Ski Resort, it is considered by many to be the best ski resort on the planet and the tournament will leave plenty of time to take advantage of these first class facilities.
